Even closer to the customer
An experienced practitioner has assumed responsibility at MWB Marine Services GmbH. Since the beginning of this year, Peter Kisslinger has been managing the business of the traditional drive and engine specialists in Bremerhaven. The 58-year-old ship engineer sailed to sea and has, inter alia, worked for a well-known engine manufacturer at home and abroad for many years. With Matthias Maskow (48), he is assisted by a sales manager, who is also experienced in the field.
The new head of MWB Marine Services intends to consistently continue the realignment of the company, which began almost two years ago. Proximity to the customer takes centre stage. "We not only rely on our excellent site conditions here in Bremerhaven, but are also on the move for our customers worldwide”, Kisslinger assures. In Bremerhaven, customers' ships can dock directly in front of the workshops in the Kaiserhafen. In close cooperation with the neighbouring repair and conversion yard, all shipbuilding work can be carried out simultaneously - immediately and without any loss of time for the customer. "In order to save customers a possibly lengthy and costly journey to Bremerhaven, we naturally send our teams to the ports most easily accessible for the ships," says Maskow.
MWB Marine Services GmbH has its roots in the traditional Bremerhaven-based MWB AG. Just over a year ago, the Bremerhaven company secured additional expertise through a strategic partnership with a renowned large-scale enterprise from the drive sector. "Among other things, our strength is based on the fact that we are independent of brands," explains Kisslinger. The spectrum ranges from classic maintenance and repair work for two- and four-stroke engines, including turbochargers, to large-scale projects. In addition to the direct work on the powertrain, MWB procures and sells new, used and specially made spare parts in original manufacturer quality.
Peter Kisslinger studied marine engineering in Stralsund. After several years of practice at sea, he worked as a research engineer at the Institute of Marine engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Flensburg. He then worked for a well-known German engine manufacturer, including as Managing Director of the Hong Kong office. Before becoming Managing Director of MWB Marine Services, Kisslinger had already worked there in the position of Technical Director for six months.
Matthias Maskow has acquired his knowledge of mechanical engineering from the ground up in training as an industrial mechanic. He then moved into sales and distribution for various service partners and manufacturers in the field of large and marine engines. He joined MWB Marine Services through the strategic partner for whom Maskow worked for more than ten years.
